Thai Lemon Islands, Baby

Ingredients used in Thai Lemon Islands, Baby

INGREDIENTS:

  • lemon muffins
  • tiramisu
  • raspberry yoghurt with oat granola
  • squeeze & stir red Thai chicken soup mix
  • smoked garlic
  • jelly babies
  • cheese & onion crisps

METHOD:

Take three cloves of the garlic and gently sauté them in a little oil. Crush a handful of cheese & onion crisps and add them to the pan. Add the chicken soup concentrate and a little water, and a couple of jelly babies. Allow the flavours to infuse for a few moments, until you realise that the jelly babies have completely melted. Then, vigorously stir, pretending nothing is wrong, simmering all the time until you have a smooth-ish sauce. Allow this to cool for as long as possible.

For some reason, this image just looks wrong. Kids, don't try this at home.

Gently remove the muffin tops of two muffins and arrange them side by side on a plate. Using a potato peeler, take a 30mm core from both tops. Take two matching cores from the tiramisu and insert them into the voids in the muffin tops. Add granola to the lemony mounds for added texture.

Drizzle the sauce, which has hopefully cooled by now, around the mounds, which should by now vaguely resemble a mountainous landscape. Sort of. Add a little yoghurt to the summits to simulate snow caps. Finally, crown the mountains with individual raspberries salvaged from the yoghurt to simulate a glowing volcanic core. Decorate the mountain slopes with jelly babies representing hiking tourists, trapped climbers or human sacrifices. Whatever.

Serve immediately.

Andrew: "Thankfully, it looks ever so slightly worse than it tastes."

Kath: "It's always good to see Chefs using established Ready, Steady, Chuck! techniques, like melting jelly babies."

Marcus: "Once again, Chef Al proves he is a closet sensible person with a veneer of anarchy."

Andy: "I feel I am at the Mountains of Madness once again."
