The Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge

At regular intervals of at least one year, the Ready, Steady, Chuck! Champion is determined at the Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge, usually held in the summer in Bangor, North Wales. At the Challenge celebrity chefs compete to win the coveted Golden Bowl. When Ready, Steady, Chuck! began in 1999, it was intended that the Challenge should be held annually. Unfortunately that doesn't always happen. Well, we do our best.

And the Winner is... Chef Andrew's creation Bangor Bongo Bonus Biscuit won by the closest of margins at the 2012 Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge
  1. 1st World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Andy
  2. No challenge, because of insufficient celebrity chef volunteers
  3. No challenge, because of general apathy, or else we were too apathetic to remember it (but there are other theories)
  4. 2nd World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Bruce
  5. No challenge, because of a general lack of organisational skills
  6. No challenge, because we completely forgot that Morrisons would be shut on Sunday afternoon
  7. 3rd World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - No Winner
  8. 4th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Kath
  9. No challenge, because nobody who was actually available at the time got off their arse to do anything about it
  10. 5th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Al
  11. 6th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - No Winner
  12. 7th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Al
  13. 8th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Andrew
  14. 9th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Andrew
  15. No challenge, because there just wasn't enough time that year. Or perhaps the chefs were still recovering from the experience in 2012.
  16. 10th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales - Winner: Chef Kath
  17. 11th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales, for the first time using the new Ready, Steady, Chuck! EXPRESS Rules - Winner: Chef Al
  18. No challenge, because Chef Al could only rustle up two other chefs and didn't think that was strong enough competition. That's what he says, anyway.
  19. 12th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge took place in Bangor, North Wales, using the standard rules - Winner: Chef Andy

The 13th World Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge (unlucky for some) is scheduled to take place in August 2018 in Bangor, North Wales. Probably. At least, it will if people can fire up enough enthusiasm. Well, we've done fairly well so far, so you never know.

If you want to know more about how the Challenge works, see our illustrated introductory walk through the 2006 Ready, Steady, Chuck! Challenge. It's old, sure, but very little has changed.
